Privacy Policy

We built ColorClarity to be useful, not to collect your data. We don't want your personal information, and we don't need it.

When you visit, we see:

  • Someone visited (anonymous analytics)
  • What browser/device you're using (helps fix bugs)
  • Your country (just curious where users are from)
  • How you interact with the app (clicks, scrolling, mouse movements), if you allow session recording
  • If something breaks (error reports without personal info)

We don't see:

  • Who you are (no names, emails, or accounts needed)
  • Where else you go online (no tracking)

The tools we use:

  • Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights count anonymous page views and measure how fast pages load. They don't set cookies.
  • Sentry sends us error reports without personal info. With session recording on, Sentry Session Replay also sends a recording of the moments before an error.
  • Microsoft Clarity records anonymous sessions (your mouse movements and clicks) and which color values you look up. If you accept session recording, Clarity also sets cookies to connect your visits.

These tools don't track you across websites.

Your choice:

If you visit from the EU, the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, or if we can't tell your country, we ask first. Clarity and Sentry Session Replay start only after you accept. Elsewhere, session recording is on without cookies until you reject it.

You can change your choice at any time with the shield button at the top of the page. Your browser keeps your choice in local storage. A short-lived cookie tells the app which of these rules applies to your country.

Terms of Use

It's a free tool that turns color codes into human-friendly names. By using ColorClarity, you're agreeing to these terms.

Please do:

  • Use it for any project (personal or commercial)
  • Share it with friends who hate memorizing hex codes
  • Let us know if something breaks

Please don't:

  • Hammer the site with bots
  • Try to break things on purpose
  • Use it for illegal activities

The honest disclaimers

  • This is a personal project. It might go down sometimes. Features might change. We'll try to keep it running, but no promises.
  • We provide this tool as-is, without warranties. It works well for most things, but use it at your own risk.
